Using SOFAA to Assess and Empower Patients

Enroll in this program to learn from Dr. Katherine Dahlsgaard about the Scale of Food Allergy Anxiety (SOFAA) Tool.

Course length is 1 hour.

You will be able to:

  1. Describe the clinical utility of the SOFAA tool in assessing food allergy anxiety and guiding evidence-based treatment.

  2. Identify developmentally appropriate ways to administer the SOFAA across age groups, including young children, teens, and young adults.

  3. Use SOFAA data to inform exposure therapy planning, including selecting relevant "proximity challenges" and creating anxiety ladders.

  4. Differentiate between food allergy-related anxiety and other behavioral issues, such as avoidant/restrictive eating patterns or parental over-functioning.
